Govt Job : Technician (Product and Process Development) @ National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)
The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) was founded in 1965 to replace exploitation with empowerment, tradition with modernity, stagnation with growth, transforming dairying into an instrument for the development of India’s rural people.
NDDB began its operations with the mission of making dairying a vehicle to a better future for millions of grassroots milk producers. The mission achieved thrust and direction with the launching of “Operation Flood”, a programme extending over 26 years and which used World Bank loan to finance India’s emergence as the world’s largest milk producing nation. Operation Flood’s third phase was completed in 1996 and has to its credit a number of significant achievements.

Profile Summary – To assist in microbiological Research & Development activities, development of SOPs and implementation thereof.

Job Category – Product and Process Development
Key Roles & Responsibilities –
1. To conduct basic microbiological activities viz. media and reagents preparation, sterilization, microbial culture growth & maintenance, micro-pipetting, colony counting, microscopy, biochemical testing, and plating etc.
2. To operate basic microbiological equipment such as autoclave, laminar air flow, water bath, pH meter, spectrophotometer, PCR, and centrifuge etc.
3. Maintain inventory of the laboratory chemicals and reagents
Qualifications – The incumbent should be B Sc in Microbiology with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Skills / Attributes : Technical :
1. The person should have basic operational knowledge of fermenter, freeze drier and high capacity centrifuge, & ‘Good Lab Practices’ especially from microbiological perspective.
Job Specific Requirements :
1. Willing to stay beyond normal working hours (early morning & late evening) as per requirement of the operation in hand.
2. Ability to handle fragile material/equipment of weight upto 30kg in assistance with lab personnel, as and when required.
Skills/ Attributes: Managerial :
1. Able to work in team and efficiently carry out the task assigned by supervisor.
2. Timely completion of work, reporting of results and recording in word/excel format, & making transaction in ERP system.
